Active Forums is a free open source forum and message board solution made available via MIT Licensing.
Active Forums started out as the brain child of Will Morgenweck, the founder of Active Modules. Seeing the need to a robust and flexible forum solution for the DotNetNuke (DNN) content management system (CMS) Will embarked on an ambitious development effort to create a best of breed forum and message board module for the DNN CMS. In 2011 Active Modules was acquired by the DotNetNuke Corporation and Will joined the DotNetNuke corporation as a Director of Product Management. As part of the open source movement, DotNetNuke and Will decided to move Active Forums from a paid commercial solution to a FREE open source development effort where all of the source code and module packages were made available free of charge so that the open source community could take Active Forums in new and exciting directions.
Current Team Structure
