    Hi,

What's the best way to allow users to embed images in the active forums posts? I have a lot of users who complain the DNN Editor is too difficult for them.

Is this something that is / will be fixed in newer releases?

    Thanks,
    Jeroen

Which editor are you using? On my site, I use CKEditor with a stripped down toolbar that only has very essential functions. I think that image insertion functionality provided by CKEditor is a bit simpler than the default provider's.

We have talked about adding a simplified interface for image insertion, but it's not done yet. There is a person on GitHub who has put together a module that allows easy image upload/insertion. I'm not sure what the state of it is, but here's a link to the item: https://github.com/jbrunken/ActiveF.../issues/35

I use the standard DNN Rad provider. I will experiment a bit with the CKEditor and also try the github module.

In the old days active forums had its own editor. this was very simple. Is using a limited and custom editor for active forums with a simple drag and drop image upload (eg uploadify) an option?

Yes, I liked the old AF editor as well. Unfortunately, it wasn't made available as part of the open source project.

I'm the webmaster for a site dedicated to saltwater aquariums (the desire to improve the forums on that site are what got me involved with Active Forums). Posting pictures of tanks is a very, very popular activity on my forum, so I'm always looking for ways to make that process easier. Hopefully I (or someone else) will find the time to come up with a great solution that makes it as easy as it should be.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try the options.
